A few competent and pleasant to work with colleagues, mostly below middle management level, will be about the only thing contributing to a tolerable working atmosphere.
More often than not, direct superiors will unabashedly forward any pressure perceived (not necessarily received, as there is a lot of outrage and drama over nothing) to you. Parasitic behavior is encouraged and justified as "needing to adapt". The thing being adapted to is, in most cases, poor decision making a few pay-grades above.
There is a lot of good will, but there is also a limit to the collegiality of the colleagues as a result of the conditions described in other parts of this review.
In IT you will mostly be cleaning up a variety of disasters caused by poor decisions, poorer management and abysmal treatment of employees. On the bright side you will rarely be bored, and not too phased either if chaos is something you thrive in.
Not the strongest suit of this company. Apart from barely informative and even less meaningful communiques sent out by upper management (and HR, asking those still employed for positive reviews on this site among other things), the lack of communication is only one of the many ways of making employees feel unappreciated, all the professional implications - including but not limited to heavy monetary loss - notwithstanding.
No meaningful improvements. This company is not setting any examples in this regard.

Skill, loyalty and diligence are not rewarded as much as pretense, blind deference and subservience. Employees with longer service records will only be more offended by this than newer additions.
Karriere / Weiterbildung
This company is more a refuge for desperation than a career launcher. Use it as a stepping stone to greater things if you must. Some courses and certificates will be offered to improve your knowledge and put it into context, make of that what you will.
Gehalt / Sozialleistungen
Salary is acceptable but will not improve over time. The bonus program is as sketchy as the goals that will be provided, if they are indeed provided and agreed upon.
The workstations are generally serviceable and up-to-date due to diligent maintenance. The office space itself leaves a lot to be desired due to inefficient air conditioning or heating, and often outright violates the most basic safety guidelines.
The employee's quality of life has little priority as they are expected to carry the weight of bad decisions that were done too late and communicated even later, if at all. In more desperate times it has been attempted, with varying degrees of success, to bully employees into excessive performance by threatening their position or benefits.
The only times I heard this company spoken of in at least equivocal tones instead of outright negative ones was in connection with certain individuals who have been known to contribute a lot due to their competence. The emphasis was, and is, on those few individuals and not the company as an employer.
- Stability, better treatment of employees, cleaning house at the upper pay-grades, replacing the corporate lapdogs with genuinely attentive and experienced individuals.
The friendliness and open-mindedness of many colleagues who are easy and pleasant to work with, the decent connection with public transit, the numerous establishments to choose from for lunch breaks.
Almost every aspect not mentioned above.
