Could be better, but in general good.
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
In comparison to many other industries/companies, you get a stable, relatively stress free job. You get to meet plenty of nice and smart people. The brand is known. And the group has big potential for the future. Salaries are relatively good, there are also bonuses.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
BA is a subsidiary and as such is being squeezed like a lemon, the Italian Management isn’t the best (some are really good though) and the local one doesn’t really have much power against the owners.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Abolish the old school mentality regarding age and remuneration, performance is performance, regardless of age/education. Invest in your people and focus internally instead of trying to outsource everything. Provide a good transition period whenever old colleagues are retired, the know-how is lost and you cannot buy it. Cheaper younger hires aren’t always the best solution and the sum of the expenses in the spreadsheet is not the most important thing if you want long-term success. Short term gains aren’t sustainable.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Plenty of nice and smart people, haven’t seen any toxicity.
Kommunikation
Plenty of useless pr campaigns, which is normal for a large company.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Depends on team/division, but based on my experience it’s extremely good.
Work-Life-Balance
Home Office, lack of micro management, most likely depends on manager. Sabbaticals, etc are also available. The Betriebsrat offers nice events.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Depends on division, from my experience really good.
Interessante Aufgaben
Its an european bank, don’t expect many interesting and thought provoking tasks.
Gleichberechtigung
Haven’t noticed any issues.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Many are sent into retirement early, but compensated with relatively fair packages. In general, older employees have much better contract conditions than younger ones.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Monitors could be updated. The campus isn’t really high-end. Coffee is now free though, and it isn’t bad at all, which is a big win.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Way too slow and small incremental increases for young employees, despite high performance. External hires receive always higher salaries. In general, other banks have better social benefits, but the salaries here seem a bit higher. Older contracts and newer ones aren’t comparable at all.
Image
Italian precision with Austrian flexibility. But in general, the brand is known and relatively respected.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Since Orcel, there has been an emphasis on further education/development. Future will tell whether it will be just a pr stunt.
