Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Higher salary than average, God pension fund, interesting tasks and jobs due to medium big size of the company.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Old boys network and chauvinist up to unethical management behavior. Poor power distribution between functions, literally no HR support, Superficial judgements by manager and at times micro management.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

You need to exchange almost the entire senior management crowd to make a difference in true leadership and become a more ethical and meritocracy oriented employer.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Poor information flows. If you are in the buddy club you made it but don't dare to say opposing opinions. Particularly, the chauvinistic behavior by management and glass ceilings influence the atmosphere, it's a men's world. Careers are planned behind closed doors and bases on how well you get along with your manager, not based on meritocracy. HR partnering and support is literally non existing.

Kommunikation

Information flow is top down and rather poor depending on the manager. Had many cases when communicated a task I wasn't given full information but only bits and pieces. A bit conspirative at times. Managers don't trust their employees and it shows in the way their communicate. They don't mind to give you a feeling of exclusion.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

I have amazing colleagues with great collaboration and bonding as a team but also very unprofessional and jealous ones who are fighting with their elbows and use opportunities to ruin your reputation or career. Guess it's like everywhere mostly.

Work-Life-Balance

Working at evenings and weekend sometimes is the norm in most positions. Those with family can perceivedly work more flexibly than those without, which is sometimes unfair. Vacation timings are flexible and requests are seldom challenged. There is a tendency towards group pressure among peers in that sense.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Poor to non existing conflict management, either micro management or careless conduct. At times experienced personal attacks and unethical comments and offenses during jour fix and PDI discussion. Unfair ratings and superficial judgement on behavioral aspects even when the job is done well but you don't fit in their picture or buddy network. Decision making top down and not always based on logic but on how you benefit their buddy system.

Interessante Aufgaben

Depends on the position, mostly workload is diverse and challenging but there is a tendency to overload those who work hard and spare those who just cling along.

Gleichberechtigung

No equal opportunity. glass ceilings influence the atmosphere,it's a men's world. Careers are planned behind closed doors and bases on how well you get along with your boss, not based on meritocracy. HR partnering and support is literally non existing. Old boys network doesn't leave room for ambitious women to advance and be able to use their skills and reach their goals making a difference as leaders.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Old employees are the biggest assets and in many cases they are employed as part time consultants after retiring, specially if they are so called "secrecy holders". Duration of employment seems to be a criteria for an advanced career. Can't recall hiring of old applicants without company experience.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The conditions are ok. Sometimes no or poor AC in hot weather. Ergonomic office furniture are available if asked for and supported by a medical report, but remain a privilege for most. Thin walls make talks in privacy challenge sometimes.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Good salary levels can compensate most of the other negative aspects, however, even these deteriorated over time. Cost saving is often translated into hiring "cheaper" staff. Salary is paid punctually and wherever applicable social contributions are complied of. Pension fund is rather generous.

Image

The image as a preferred employer is perceived rather negatively. This corresponds to reality. Good salary levels can compensate most of the other negative aspects, however, even these deteriorates over time.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Personal development of soft skills is encouraged only recently and mandatory programs are implemented, but seem to serve the purpose of satisfying senior Management only rather than being taken seriously. Again, careees are almost solely based on duration of employment, absolute loyalty to supervisors and fit into the old boys network.
