Position: Business Analyst - TO AVOID!!!

Arbeitsatmosphäre

- No integration with the existing team.
- Managers in a higher position (senior consultant) ignored the analysts on a daily basis - no team building.
- Criticism, dishonesty, no transparency from managers with a higher position.
- Massive conflict of interest as our supervisor was the niece of the director.
- We were not invited to participate to the team meeting.

Kommunikation

Communication with the managers was the worst: they didn't know how to give constructive feedback, to deal with conflicts and to talk respectfully to solve one: Screaming and sarcasm were used instead of wise communication when a problem arises. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Kollegenzusammenhalt

The older team (senior managers) was very unpleasant to work with, in contrary with the younger team (consultants & analysts), which was welcoming and pleasant to work with.

Work-Life-Balance

Jan-Feb-March months are very busy because of the fiscal season. After this period, the working hours become softer.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

The organization, the communication, the integration, the goals, and the tasks allocation were a disaster. Work had to be done several times in a row because of miscommunication and lack of organization from the managers. Training was required for us (new hire) to be functioning rapidly. However, the manager in charge of the project did not organize such training or answered our questions. As a consequence, the project was delayed, we were blamed for the lack of output due to their disorganization, the workload increased, and an unpaid weekend extra work was requested. Summary: Poor project management and general management skills from the managers.

Interessante Aufgaben

No previous knowledge was required for this position. No learning opportunity, routinized work, manufacturing-type of functions. Employees are replaceable. Not interesting tasks!

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

The older team is very unpleasant to work with: unrespectful behavior, ethically incorrect way of talking, no possibility of engaging a legit discussion about payday/holiday/weekend work without getting screamed on/ no and ignoring greetings in the morning. However, the younger team of consultants & analysts was welcoming, and it was nice to work with them.

Arbeitsbedingungen

- No respect for the employees in lower positions (Mobbing-ish behavior & intensive Micromanagement). I never felt so unmotivated by the leadership of a company. The intense micromanagement, disorganization and the lack of constructive feedbacks end up to be very unproductive and poorly impacted the project.

- Superiors' way of talking & behaviors were (most of the time) ethically incorrect and disrespectful

- Massive conflict of interest as our supervisor was the niece of the director.

- No career opportunities in higher positions.

- No inspiring role-model for thriving work experience.

- Saturday-Sunday work (when needed) wasn't paid nor compensated (which is illegal in CH). HR and other structures that should exist to protect the employees were inefficient.

- THE KITCHEN IS A SMOKING ROOM; the smell goes everywhere and the whole office smells like a cold ashtray every morning.

- The 6th floor of the building is a hookers club (office on the 5th floor)

Fact: 4 consultants resigned within a period of 6 months. Majority of the remaining employees are looking for another work opportunity elsewhere.

Deloitte Tax Reporting Services (part of Deloitte Luxembourg) is a small team of 20 French-speaking persons. Not to be mistaken for Deloitte Switzerland.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

The learning opportunities are very small. As the work is routinized, the learning curve can become flat very fast over time (6-8 months). The possibility to get a promotion within a year is very thin.
