The company at the end of the day was founded by a brilliant man who put value in his employees and the work they do. That culture does still resonate throughout a bit, although they've grown and have struggled to fully deliver on that "family" feel throughout that growth. Growth is a challenge for communication and the industry that Cannella works in is in a state of change so there is a lot of flexing required of the employees. For some, that flexing and changing is exciting. For others, it's scary and unpredictable. The company is active in the community and access to decision makers is for the most part, an option.
Communication throughout the organization is an area that Cannella struggles. Layers of management have made access to top-line decision making tough and middle management is not always quick to deliver news that the team wants to hear.
The work structure is not modern and is not built for remote working, flexible scheduling or other more modern requests. I believe the company is going to need to flex with this new workplace demand if they want to remain competitive with fresh, new talent.
