Lots of colleagues who are not software engineers making decisions regarding software. Constant talk of beating Tesla when majority of culture is defined by established management from VW and Audi who refuse to let go of their older suppliers and older mindsets.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Stop only saying that you are agile and actually implement agile practices from the management and down. If management takes months to define project scopes, how do you expect engineers to be efficient?
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Very German dominated and some older colleagues refuse to speak English with you even though it’s the official company language.
Work-Life-Balance
Fantastic WLB for those who can get tasks done very efficiently. Since the company runs at the pace of a dinosaur, I effectively only worked 10 or so hours a week and sat in meetings for the rest of the time.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Salary is pretty good for market standards, but Betriebsrat is not friendly towards high achievers. Not very easy to get very high salary here as a SWE…you must go into corporate landing for higher pay.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Company can be a death sentence to a young engineer’s career since there are almost no interesting tasks and too much bureaucracy. Sitting in meetings all day and almost doing no doing is great for coasters, but not for the one who actually want to make the most out of their career.
