Position Description
As a Systems Developer / Administrator you will be required to work both independently and within a team with responsibilities such as prioritizing your work effectively, carry out both the implementation and configuration of Microsoft systems and the ability to conduct complex projects efficiently. A Systems Developer and Administrator who has a high knowledge of networking, such as; Implementation Skills (C/C++), TCP/IP, firewalls, DHCP, DNS as well as Windows, Active Directory, SQL Server and IIS web technologies is the ideal candidate when applying for this position. In order to be successful, Candidates will be required to have both, developer skills and system administration skills. Your future duties and responsibilities
You will be supporting an international, dynamic and successful team working on some of the most challenging and exciting Space projects in Europe. Depending on your experience and ability, you will perform a wide range of tasks whilst supporting the CGI members in Darmstadt, including:

• Administering, installing and tailoring Gerrit, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus (including sources and implementation / patching)
• LDAP (OpenLDAP/Active Directory, mostly former)
• Implementation of configuration management modules based on Puppet
• Configuration and maintenance of network monitoring tools like Munin
• Linux scripting (mostly bash, perl, python)
• Network admin (firewall (iptables/ufw)
• Installing, administering and debugging fileservers based on Windows SMB, NFS/Samba and ZFS
• Configuration and installation of IP telephony server (Asterisk based)
• Configuration and administration of Web servers (Apache, nginx) including SSL certificates
• Resolving Windows / Microsoft Office issues
• Re-cabling patch panels
• Solving hardware issues on x86 hardware (Desktops, Laptops)
• Setting up cabling, PCs and telephones with users
• Resolving printer issues
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Skills required:

• In-depth knowledge of Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, SLES, Centos)
• Knowledge of Windows (Server and Workstation)
• Basic understanding of IP networks and IP telephony
• Working knowledge of English
• Knowledge of Backup Concepts
• VM-Clusters (ESX)
• Knowledge of different Filesystems (esp. ZFS)
• Good Hardware Skills (from old to new Servers)
• Service Management
• Monitoring
