- I would focus more on the maintenance of equipment and rotation of equipment that is used constantly 24 hrs a day non-stop for years. Chairs, for example, are sat in constantly and begin to break down after a couple years of hard use. Computers systems could be configured to make faster fixes of downed programs.
Never been made to feel uncomfortable due to my race. Receive recognition for good work and solid work ethic through outstanding performance reviews, promotions and regular salary increases. Co-workers are friendly, and helpful. Agency and city always offers discounted tickets to sporting events and other city sponsored events. I receive plenty of time off including sick, personal, and vacation time. My boss is very accommodating in approval of well planned absences.
Not many. I think that maybe the agency could be a little more aggressive in recruiting as my department has never been fully staffed in my several years of employ. The training program has roughly a 60-75% wash out rate due to the stressful nature of the work and the immense amount of information required to assimilate. Would be nice if we had a constant well of applicants to draw from if a trainee doesn't make the cut.
