- I would create "care packages" for lack of a better word, that may consist of items such as a drink, energy bar or other snacks that could be provided to a staff member who is held beyond their 12 hour shift. It would show concern and acknowledgement that they are not forgotten. It would also be helpful if directives were given directly from a specific chain of command instead of finding yourself in the position of following one order then being reprimanded when not being able to complete other tasks assigned by another random manager
The ability to transfer from site to site is easy and benefits are reasonably priced and there are lots of programs offered. The headquarters seem to be willing to create programs that are beneficial to all such as employee assistance and an emergency financial fund. They also offer employees a grievance and ethics complaint platform that can be confidential.
At my specific facility there is a lack of professionalism that starts high up. I have personally had management talk negatively to me, and others, about other employees. There also a consistent lack of accountability and adherence to policy and procedure. As an example, requiring non security staff to supervise mass movements when such movements could be cancelled if appropriate staff is not available.
