I was once told that it didn't matter if I was right or what proof I had - if upper management said I was wrong then I was wrong. This happened when the CEO himself told my manager that I had done something wrong, but in actuality the examples he made were from a time-frame where I did not even hold that position.

We were all told in our interview that it is improper to discuss wages, but we did anyway. It turned out the call center agents were quitting because they were only paid $9-10/hr. I myself was hired in at $11/hr for a more complicated position, and "promoted" to even more responsibility for $11.50/hr being told, "you should be grateful, almost everybody else got nothing". I then trained my replacement who was hired on for $13/hr. She was older but didn't have my experience.
- Pay your employees a fair wage for the work they perform and don't criticize wages being discussed. That's a very poor reflection on you, not them. Discipline those that deserve it, not just because you're scared of your boss and have to "do anything".
The other employees (not management) were wonderful and hardworking individuals.
