Since it is a global company, I can advance and travel to almost anywhere in the world.

Compensation is twice as much as my previous employer.

The company does not offer facilities with temperature control. However they do provide proper work tools like knee pads and gloves

We are expected to recycle and reuse as much cardboard as we possibly can.

Overall, I think it is a great company to work for.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

  • I don't have any suggestions for improving the workplace policies or environment. They do a good job for providing a fair and inclusive work place.

Pro

I was offered a tremendous amount of training before being let go to fly solo! It is the most amount of training I have received from any job. There is also a pool of resources with a wealth of knowledge, so if there is ever a question about something, there is always someone, somewhere that you can call to find that information out. The culture is on of acceptance, and everyone is laid back and helpful.

Contra

I disapprove of some of the conditions of the work places. For example, I would find a way to provide some heating during the working hours during cold winters. Also provide ways of cooling the work areas during the hot summers.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

due to the 'musical chairs' approach to manager rotation it was hard to find a manager that would support you and be an advocate, but there were some exceptionally good ones too.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Mid level manager positions rotate ALOT. this makes for inconsistent policies and it's hard to get teams aligned on project objectives.

Interessante Aufgaben

I was very independent in my role, very little over-sight, made my own schedule and largely set my own objectives, just reviewed them with my manager for alignment.

Not really sure, I worked in the field and traveled a lot.

Work-Life-Balance

Depends on your position, I had a lot of autonomy as a regional auditor. If you work at a plant in management the hours can be long and you may be expected to come in on off shifts.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

  • Certain key departments in QA/Analytical support needed to interface at least annually, align on objectives and not step on each other's toes as they conduct their jobs. Mid level managers for certain groups should NOT change all the time, this is highly counter-productive.

Pro

Safety oriented, compensation (salary/benefits) was good. I loved working with some of the people who were very talented and innovative, learned a lot from many people and this made me better in my own role.

Contra

There is no soul in PepsiCo, especially now as they transition to a 'global organization'. The person or persons who decided to make my job obsolete had zero clue what we provided to the organization and things rapidly fell apart after we left. So be it, on to better things.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Their rules and regulations are not consistent. They can make up new rules as they see fit!

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Management is rarely every there and there is little to no communication with management. Management is hardly ever seen in production unless AIB or the FDA is in the building. They will direct your concerns to HR which is rarely ever there and when they are they provide little to no help at all.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

It's each person for themselves. New hires have about 15 to 30 minutes training and then your are on your own! The work is physically demanding and fast.

Interessante Aufgaben

You have freedom to work independently and you better know what you're doing and be paying attention. If something goes wrong which it frequently does they love pointing fingers. So it's best to pay attention and know what's going on around you at ALL times.

Kommunikation

HR is rarely there and there is a high turn over for them. They have high favoritism for a select few and disregard any concerns for the majority. The Plant manager doesn't have one clue what goes on inside the production area and has made the remark to me that "Stepping inside production is like stepping back into the 1960's." Machines are from that era of time.

Gleichberechtigung

Frito is dominantly Female. Very few men work there. Shipping and Receiving have the highest potential for male workers.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

The majority are brown nosers so to make themselves look good they act accordingly. Depending on who that colleague is. People can "fake" well.

Karriere / Weiterbildung

It depends on who you are and if your are liked enough. If you are not in their mix you aren't climbing anywhere!!

Gehalt / Sozialleistungen

Pretty good. If not for the pay they would not have educated employees period.

Arbeitsbedingungen

A lot better that production area or any other area in the plant.

Umwelt- / Sozialbewusstsein

There have been issues but just to say the biggest I think is when the sewer backs up and it smells throughout the whole plant. Production, Break Room, Rest Rooms, Supervisor Offices and in the parking lot so bad it makes you sick.

Work-Life-Balance

You basically have no life outside this plant. Your world will revolve around your work. Since rules have changed (which they do daily) you now have a 2 hour notice on mandatory Overtime which can happen any day. So it's best to come to work everyday preparing to work 12 hours.
