Application as a software developer. There was an extensive (offline) coding exercise followed by a remote interview. The interview covered various topics of software architecture and development without discussing the exercise.
Questions soon started revolving around programming language details which I didn't know and one shouldn't be using in a project because they are code-smells. I felt like interviewing for a teacher's job and being asked how hard you can hit a student without leaving permanent marks: you should neither need not have that knowledge, at all.
I was promised a timely answer, but weeks later I got the standard reply that my application was rejected in favour of other, more qualified candidates. That is regrettably inaccurate, as I saw the same job advertised again a few days later and by the time I am writing this review it has still not being filled.
