Instead of going with the times, they decided to stay in the 20th century...

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Depends on the team you're in. I've had the chance to be in several teams and it varies definitely. One can feel pressure however to deliver faster, but this naturally means that the end product is not something that is easy to maintain in the long run.. "Be practical" - I heard, but this just meant that quality isn't really that important.

Kommunikation

We have a lot of meetings, so the chance to communicate is given. Team leads, PMs and the executives are always letting us know what is going on. But I find the number of the meetings too much sometimes. Some meetings could be just an email.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Nothing exceptional, just the industry average so to say.

Work-Life-Balance

Positive: Overtime isn't typical fortunately. Going/starting to work is flexible and I haven't felt that I was being monitored. If you have something private to deal with outside of work, you can get it done during your work time.

Negative: Before the pandemic we had one home-office day every second week. Now during the pandemic we are/were 100% remote. I say "were" because now starting from September we're required to go to the office twice (2 days) a week, and starting from October we will be required to go to the office three times (3 days). I personally find this bad and I can't understand why can't they just make it optional to go to the office. We were able to get our job done without any issue remotely, and I personally think, better as we could have done it in the office. We work/worked in a open office environment which I didn't like (before the pandemic) and now that I saw the benefits of working remotely, now I think going to the office has nothing that would make my job easier, however, it would just make it harder.

Office work is the 20th century, remote work is the 21th century.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

The executives and other people in leading positions try to be modern, forward pointing, but they all are conservative suddenly when it comes to making decisions.

Interessante Aufgaben

I had positive experiences, I was never bored and I liked the projects I worked on. However, there are projects that were developed as MVP and more or less stayed in that form and were pushed to production. This means, that the quality of the implementation is lacking, test coverage is bad, and it's not enjoyable to maintain something that was meant to be temporary anyways.

Gleichberechtigung

It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman, where you come from. We were treated equally.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Age doesn't matter.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The company just moved into a new office building. For me, it's not important. What matters (now after the pandemic) is that I can get my job done in silence, without people walking around me or hovering over my shoulder. It can be loud in the office, this is why I put on my headphones just so I can concentrate. So I wouldn't say that it's good.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

It was bad before, and it will be bad after the pandemic. We used a lot of post-its, paper and such for our meetings. Working remotely showed us that we don't need any of this, there are digital tools that are perfect substitutes.

Letting the people work remote would be one of the best things for the environment. But they have other plans for the future.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Industry average or below. Depends on the position and your skills. There is no or little chance for getting a raise though. They will only give you one if you "do more". Your past performance doesn't qualify you a raise or a bonus.

Image

Hardly anyone heard about jameda among the people I know, and even if they know it, they just say: "Ahh, that website where I can look for a doctor". And that's it.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Hardly any room for climbing the mystical "corporate ladder", which you shouldn't do anyway. Just move on if you think you're not getting anywhere.
