1. Gain a better understanding of your employees. Judge the quality and efficiency of your employees' daily work properly. Don't listen to gossip.
2. Since the spirit of hands-on and start-up is promoted, please do it. Don't make the decision-making process long and difficult.
3. Since it is considered remote first, provide employees sufficient staff for working from home.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The leadership is so incompetent and unprofessional that he/she doesn't know what are the team members doing. Absolutely no trust. Instead of observing the working behavior of the employees, he/she prefers to listen to gossip.

Kommunikation

No communication at all. All "communication" will be facilitated via Slack. It's inefficient spending so much time typing words. People have to pay so much attention to all information, no matter if it is relevant or irrelevant to them. Missing some important information is your own fault.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Not exist. People prefer to talking behind rather than direct communication. Questions are not welcomed.

In my team, people are conservative. A single tiny change will make them uncomfortable. Instead of telling the newbies how to act properly or what kind of working style would be preferred, bullying newbies with a different working style than theirs is their daily entertainment.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The company asserts that they are remote first. However, they are definitely not ready for that. Except for a laptop and a company cellphone, there is nothing else to support your work from home. A screen needed? Take them by yourself from Cologne!

It's a pity that you got a bad impression of us and our working atmosphere. We would like to go into more detail about a few points that you mentioned.

Even if we don't see each other in person every day due to the home office situation, we are in constant contact with each other and continue to see each other daily in virtual meeting rooms. Our newbies also receive individual onboarding plans in order to facilitate a smooth start and to give them a certain amount of security about what to expect in their first weeks. In fact, we would describe our communication and information sharing as rather open (see also our principle “create transparency, earn trust”). Therefore, we cannot relate to your argument that we rely on gossip in any way.

Taking decisions quickly and implementing them accordingly is part of our culture: “move fast - get shit done” is one of our principles. We are sorry that you experienced this differently and would like to get a deeper understanding of your feedback and the situation where you observed slow decision making. Feel free to reach out to HR to discuss this in more detail.

Due to Corona and the decision to become a remote-first company, the processes for shipping hardware to our newbies were new and still a bit bumpy. In addition, due to the high demand and Corona-related restrictions, there were delivery bottlenecks for monitors. But with time we have found our ways and consistent processes and can now ship the complete hardware to our newbies.

Finally, we would like to address your point regarding further development opportunities. Our principle "change or die" is the guiding principle here. Both within the team and beyond, we always aim to improve our processes.This results in new projects and challenges that offer our employees the opportunity for continuous development.
