So much wasted potential

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Used to be great, but is becoming worse and worse. A lot of pressure from upper management and the board with unrealistic and not aligned goals and project steps predefined by managers who can't overview complexity and don't listen to each other or their employees. People just don't count and are just resources.

Kommunikation

Bad, simply bad. One way communication top to down just to handover predefined projects and milestones in a setting where the goal was to build up a modern and sustainable product organization. If you think this top down approach is the right one for MMS, then don't promise a modern organization on the way to servant leadership and team responsibility.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Very good within teams/departments, unfortunately more and more affected negatively between departments because of the managerial discords.

Work-Life-Balance

The usual problem: Trust-based working hours but the workload often couldn't be handled by two or three people. So you can't focus on anything and get drawn in 50-60 hours weeks without a real outcome or compensation.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

As already described: No vision, no dialogue, no trust in modern way of working, no way into the future. Digital transformation was proclaimed, but without clear support from upper management (in fact the senior management doesn't seem to know what the words mean) or any change management and is slowly rolled back by business people.

Interessante Aufgaben

Definitely, the digital transformation of MMS could be one of the most exciting and promising challenges in Europe I'd say.

Gleichberechtigung

On a working level there's definitely diversity and I never experienced discrimination, women get very rare up the ladder though.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

There was a need to change and that usually means you (have to) lose some people, which is reasonable. But this also has changed and especially older colleagues live in fear of their jobs.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Mostly old and sterile offices without the intention to build up a culture where people are involved. The only modern office was build up a few years ago in Munich and represented a model for the future to many employees, but this site is also run down by mismanagement. IT structure and support in great need of improvement.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Couldn't think of.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Entry wages are between low and ok, no incentives like Christmas bonus, overtime compensation or anything. Already negotiated pay rises are often delayed for months and months until people quit.

Image

Hard to say from the inside. I used to be very proud to work for this company, but can't say that any longer. I think the external image has also suffered, since we're not delivering quality as we could due to the internal politics and problems.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

I'm not looking for a career, but I think the opportunities would be little anyway. Old and rigid structures and elbow culture on the way up as far as I can see. Still it would be nice to get some trainings and the possibility of a professional path, but the offered (internal) capacities are usually booked out before you have a chance.
