If you're part of the little club, they'll back you through some pretty crazy stuff, maybe even more than is prudent for them. If not, they'll dump you by the roadside the first time you get any sort of negative attention, and never forget. Flip a coin, and hope they think you're "cool".

Open concept offices, but in different locked rooms
Depends on department, but can go from pretty good to absolutely awful
- Pay employees what they're worth. Base less on what random C-suite execs think of an employee, and more on the work they do and its results. Incorporate regular feedback with suggestions for improvement rather than trash talking employees behind their backs.
Lower level employees (IT, front desk, HR, research divisions) are all very nice and friendly, and worth spending time with.
When people have a problem with you, they'll start rumors or trash talk without your knowledge, without ANY systems in place to allow for healthy feedback and corrective action.
