We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and professional Management Accountant to gain experience and knowledge of a fully operational Gas Fired Power Station on a 14 month Fixed Term contract covering maternity leave.

You will be expected to understand, analyse and report on the financial performance of the station to the senior management team as well as the wider business. You will use your strong communication skills to support, challenge and influence key stakeholders on a day to day basis and help drive a commercial culture.
You will be tasked with:
- The provision of timely, accurate and relevant financial information to support the successful running of the business
- Delivering both financial support and challenge to the senior managers and their teams
- Working closely with the wider finance team, ensuring effective communication with key stakeholders throughout the business
- Providing budget information, forecasts and business plans to the power station management team and the wider business
- Assisting in the financial appraisal of projects at the station, ensuring spend is optimised
- Maintaining and improving internal financial controls on site
Required skills and experience
The person we are looking for must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) ideally with experience in a business focused environment gained in a large and complex organisation. Some previous experience within a heavy engineering environment would also be helpful, however, we will happily consider candidates from other backgrounds. You will be a problem solver with the ability to influence senior managers with strong reporting and analytical skills. This role will require the ability to work autonomously and so a high level of self-drive and motivation is essential, as will be excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.

Salary and package details
Salary of C. £40,000 - £45,000, plus 25 days holiday a bonus opportunity up to 15%, private medical cover for you and your family, and a generous company pension scheme.
