Back Office Analyst (m/f)

Location: Essen and Swindon


RWE Supply & Trading, is a leading European energy trading house for commodities in both their physical and derivative forms. As one of Europe’s strongest competitors in the gas industry, we optimise RWE’s entire non-regulated gas business. Our headquarters boast Europe’s largest energy trading floor, complementing additional sites in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.


The BO Service team is responsible for a variety of set ups in Endur, Energy Credit and SAP as well as for Global Governance activities. Therefore the team gets a service to global Back Office as well as other departments like Risk, Credit etc.

The Back Office Analyst will develop to become a key member of the team to support the requirements as stated.


We are looking for a new and committed team member.


Your tasks:

  • Static Data set up of counterparties, brokers etc. in Endur, Energy Credit and SAP, drive alignments of Static Data in different applications and support the analysis of defects (testing) in relation to Static Data

  • Operational maintenance of Static Data (e.g. Portfolios, Agreements, Contacts, Bank details etc.)

  • Lifecycle processing configuration (confirmations/settlements/regulatory reporting)

  • Business analysis in a change management context

  • Set up of collateral counterparty information in Endur and Energy Credit

  • Ownership of user guides

  • Responsibility of the E2E processes (Novations, mergers, portfolio compressions)

  • Maintain the plan and reports of audit activity across global BO. Initiate regular reviews of BO elements of the OHB and creation and analysis of KPIs for global BO and global project work


Your profile:

  • Educated to degree level or apprenticeship with good grades

  • Experience in ETRM (i.e. Endur, Energy Credit) is required

  • Working experience with SQL would be advantageous

  • Understanding of energy trading, markets and products would be beneficial

  • Working independently with a sense of responsibility and willingness to take action

  • High flexibility, dedication and self-motivation

  • Committed to team work with good interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills e.g. written, verbal and presentation (good English required and German an advantage)
