- Communication. No dictators. No micro-managers. Involve employees in implementing change. You will get resistance is you push people. You will get support if you allow them to stand next to you and be involved in change.
This place has potential. A lot of good people work here and are easy to get along and work well with. Being able to work 9 hour days and have every other Friday (or day of your choice) off is really nice.
COMMUNICATION!!!!!! When making changes that directly affect certain people......include the actual people on that change!!! People are more willing to go along with change if they can be part of the process. Dictators and Micro-Managers need to go. Replace people who left (due to retirement or whatever) instead of not hiring a replacement and, instead, dividing out the job duties to those employees who are left. You have to replace people when they leave. It's not just about looking good on paper for budget purposes and how much money you are saving because you aren't replacing people who leave. When you spread employees out too thin because they are working out of class to cover job duties that were not originally assigned, you create an unhappy work environment. It's not that hard to figure out.
