This varies publication to publication, but as far as taking care of their employees goes, upper level management could care less.
Kyra was one of the best supervisors I've had when it comes to backing her employees. No matter what she approaches everything with an objective attitude and tries to really understand what is going on before leaning one way or another.
This varies department to department. Being a part of the creative hub in Everett, there was a very strong sense of teamwork. If one artist was overwhelmed, others would step in to try and lighten the load.
Gehalt / Sozialleistungen
This is a good starting point if you need to get your feet under you, but don't expect raises or to make more than $20/hr maximum as an artist.
Umwelt- / Sozialbewusstsein
It's a newspaper company, and they don't recycle!
When something comes up in personal lives, Kyra (Creative Hub Everett Supervisor) was super understanding and let you take any time that you needed (even unpaid if you didn't have enough vacation hours).
- Find cost cutting measures elsewhere and pay your employees a livable wage.
The willingness to teach artists different aspects of print production if they were wanting to learn more was great! I learned more about print production here than I ever did in college.
Growth. There is none.
