- Get the three locations in sync. Each site should have the same processes if doing the same job, but that is not the case right now. Get all departments on the same page - too many groups are broken up into smaller groups where half the department doesn't know what the other half does. It's a small company with less than 100 people at this location - how do managers not know what their employees are doing? Have some kind of official on-boarding process. There is absolutely no on-boarding here outside of signing a piece of paper and handing it to HR.
There is a certain amount of scheduling flexibility because they understand life happens. There is a little more of a work/life balance than my previous employer provides.
The company is really chaotic right now. Feels like everything is in flux. Within the last 5 years, SMT acquired its 2 biggest competitors, but made no changes to how the businesses operator. We have three locations that are not in sync and operate as three separate companies which creates a lot of frustrations when working with other sites.
