The treatment of employees is better than the average IT company in terms of flexible working hours and the availability of very flexible part-time regulations.
Between colleagues there is a respectful and constructive relationship.
A high level of personal responsibility is expected. You cannot expect that someone will tell you to visit a specific conference, start an initiative or order better equipment for you working place. But if you apply for it it will be approved in the vast majority of cases.
Within most teams and between different teams teamwork is working very well.
If you like music the working environment is really nerdy and will make you happy :D Be prepared to leave your comfort zone for challenging tasks. However there is work which needs to be done. Better do not expect to implement your personally favored feature first.
The company has potential for improvement here. However this has been addressed already and is in a change process.
There is a growing number of female engineers and they are treated with the same respect as their male working mates (if I can judge that as a male). The works council once stated that the salary does not differ from the salary of the male colleagues.

As said the company is very flexible in terms of very flexible part-time regulations. The core working time is family friendly 10-16h. I've never been asked to shift my holidays. There is no crunch-time and you never have to work on weekends.
If you are talking to people how know the company you will surprisingly by surrounded by an aura of coolness.
- A little more transparency and a modernization of the internal communication structure could possibly improve the effectiveness of the whole company and lead to a further improvement of employee satisfaction.
