The people are friendly and helpful. They obviously get paid better than those who are employed as contractors.
Back to my original point. If you want to hear from them, you have to call or email them. Otherwise, you won't hear from them. This works fine for me. The last thing I want is pressure from a hiring agency.
They do consider your life/work balance, but will occasionally lie about hours and schedules.
At times, you can feel like you have no home. The company you work for makes all the difference. Some will welcome you, others make you feel like an intruder.
If you don't call them, they won't call you. Every two weeks you'll get a newsletter that tells you how to get a real job.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
IT is a male dominated field. I know of one female technician. Who can change this and how? I don't know.
Karriere / Weiterbildung
That's all on you. See the last question. You'll get an email newsletter that's aimed at millenials. If you're an older worker, it's all useless information.
Gehalt / Sozialleistungen
About those benefits. You're getting paid hourly, and your benefits come out of your paycheck in an hourly fashion. If you are married, and want to include your spouse in your benefits, you will end up taking home just a little better than minimum wage. Not kidding. Upwards towards $10 an hour for health insurance alone.
I happen to work for a healthcare network. Regular business hours, which surprised me. I thought for sure it would have meant shift work. Clean environment, but not a place for germaphobes.
Umwelt- / Sozialbewusstsein
See the above. They will work with you on points you feel important.
They won't help you get a permanent position outside of sending you emails telling you what skills employers are looking for.
- The workforce out there is aging. Many workers in their 50s are being shown the door because they cost too much. Healthcare benefits, time off, pay scale, have all been a factor. Talon needs to understand this. Don't focus only on college grads.
I like the "personability" of the people who work for Talon. I wish they could offer better pay or charge less for their benefits though.
They did lie to me once. They quickly recovered though. A few weeks after I had to turn down a job, they found me something better.
