- Better staff to patient ratios. Better compensation. Greater focus on recruitment. Improvement on the speed in which things are done in HR. Better communication between upper management and staff.
The coworkers that I have on the same level as me make the environment bearable. When driving out in the field, I enjoy the autonomy. My direct manager is approachable and makes herself easily accessible for questions when out in the field.
Upper management of the organization cares more about press gannet scores and patient satisfaction over staff safety. They continue to work nurses too hard with unsafe staffing ratios causing more incidents in the hospital. There is a nurse residency program that will take on more nurses than there are job openings for meaning good, qualified nurses get turned away for jobs. More and more nurses are leaving the hospital due to lack of support from management. If there was more support and more an effort for recruitment, things might improve.
