- Provide paid maternal/paternal leave. Offer more personal time off and allow it to be used for family matters, like a child's doctor's visit etc. Foster more opportunities for growth for female employees. Provide better dialogue between older and younger employees and open up communication between leadership and employees.
There is a shared sense of vision and mission at my company that drives people's work ethic. I like working in a place where people share my values. I have been supported by my managers to pursue growth opportunities. My manager is extremely flexible with our work schedule and environment which provides a great work/life balance. I have great relationships with my coworkers who are all very encouraging and supportive.
I disapprove of the company's lack of family benefits, meaning there is no paid maternal/paternal leave and no assistance with childcare. Paid time off is limited, I am lucky that I work in a department that functions outside of the normal company policies. Our human resources department is slow and unorganized, I have had several coworkers not receive promised benefits or be asked to pay back benefits that human resources didn't notice weren't being taken out for years. The administration lacks clear, detailed communication. At times there seems to be a lack of good business sense, relying so heavily on our donors instead of utilizing the assets available to us to bring in profit like our real estate.
