- falsche Leute in beinahe allen Führungspositionen
It's still recovering from corona - there was a lot of turnover during that time and now that a lot of new employees are coming in and new leaders are here, stability is being restored and the excitement is returning
We just got 30 days of vacation per year, that helped.
We don't have an edubudget, this is desperately needed.
My peers are great. No complaints here.
Most of the leaders are great people with people-first values. However, decision-making on key topics tends to take a loooong time because a consensus is always needed. It would probably be better if more top-down decisions were made.
The HQ is really nice. Unfortunately there is nothing like a home office budget but we can borrow screens from IT.
See comment below on leadership behavior. The company has good communication channels where updates are transparently shared. However, sometimes communication gets blurred due to decisions taking a really long time and therefore things dragging on without clear answers.
We could use more benefits. Salaries are getting better. Love the 2 month remote work budget.
Product, office, brand
I mean...see above.
I am seriously not sure how this company can be turned around--- probably exchange entire management suite starting with VP people. Finally offer benefits so you can compete with the really great startups.
- Working in a hybrid setting is not a benefit
- Bringing your dog to work is not a benefit
- The opportunity to have a measurable impact is not a benefit
- Equipped kitchens is a straight up lie and has been for the last 1.5 years - there is zero
- Employee referral scheme is not a benefit
Most things USC lists as benefits are just plain standad these days... why not add windows or toilets to the benefits list?w
Corona hit USC hard and the culture suffered immensely. Absolutely shocking lack of leadership failed to course correct. Senior employees leave shortly after joining because of the culture.
Product is great - inside is a mess
OK from what I witnessed
Zero - you will actively have to push for anything to be made possible. No career paths. No objective evaluation on who gets promoted. Entirely opportunistic and subjective by management. Due to the high turnover of leadership good luck with ever getting anywhere.
Low salarys, no salary adjustments EVER. ESOPS / VESOPS "are being discussing at a board level" for months. No wonder USC cannot attract top talent if all other startups offer equity for employees. How is this so hard? No one believes management anymore that they are actually pushing for it
Nothing notable happening
OK
No complaints
Depends. Mostly badly trained managers... they receive training but since the tunrover is so high none of the training stays within the company.
Nice office which is a sad ghost town. Equipment great.
Basically non existent. Extremley siloed across teams.
There were a few incidents of racist behaviour
Depends on Department.
the product. the idea. the founders. some people.
no salary raises, no real benefits except for Urban Sports membership (which nowadays is offered by many employers)
invest in own people, otherwise everybody will leave
frustration, no salary increases, best collegues are leaving
not really...
maybe one day, when the corona crisis is over, maybe it will be normal.
people order food because they apparently do not even have time to go out for lunch so it produces lots of garbage
superficial relationships, everbody is just work-overloaded
there are not really 'older' people in the company but I assume they would not be mobbed
no self-reflection
new office but desks are not adjustable - in a company which promotes health, you cannot make an ergonomic workplace
nice kitchen
no air condition
partially open space
the office is too small assuming no corona/no home office/everbyody in the office
everybody gets very good laptop
they do try hard to keep people informed but I observe information silos. they want to present themselves as flat hierarchy but in fact it is very hierarchical
When mostly working with great people it is certainly easier to take a great atmosphere as a given...yet still, it was always supported by the company AND each team member contributing by conducting events, building opportunities to "break-out", doing sports together etc.
Corona made that much harder, of course, for everyone. However, a great amount of people also sticked together even closer, which was great to see.
It's a fast pace company, environment, industry...and at the end it always depends on your own decision how you want to go about it. True though, that with a comparable young team, the boundaries get shifted and dealing with this is harder. One needs to be aware I think. That being said, there's a lot of room for flexibel hours, fitting personal needs and desires, which I think is an incredible bonus.
There's been great programmes and opportunities started and established, which suffered quite hard after the pandemic has started. Still, it would be great to get more drive and internal opportunities moving forward faster again, once things stabilised further.
Not lacking the will, but the priority and focus beside all other topics. Pretty sure this will be picked up soon...
Great office (in Berlin for sure but it's always been a priority for smaller subsidiaries in other cities/countries as well), drinks available, fruits etc.. To be honest, even though things are missing sometimes etc., I've always felt spoiled seeing what's been done for us :)
Well, there always room for improvement, no matter where you work. I think the company and it's people haven't yet completely figured out how to communicate a 100% aligned according to their vision, mission and values and due to this discrepancy there's easily room for wrong expectations, hence disappointment. I always experienced though, that discussing openly, on every level simply helps putting lose ends together again.
Always felt this is overall very important to everyone - at least everyone I've been in contact with. I always valued this a lot!
All of the above, but especially the people working here with me.
Some leaders don't invest enough time into the self-reflection of their leadership and behavior in my opinion. As role models for our culture and to bring out the best in others, I expect more of some, not all :)
Continue to put the people at the heart of everything you do they will pay you back with their motivation, passion, ideas, courage, loyalty and time.
Yes, our company culture has taken a hit during corona. Several colleagues decided to leave us and to get out of this ever extended crisis mode. We all had to accept budget restraints, less learning opportunities and many of my colleagues had to take on extra work to cover for those who left. In other cases these people were rehired. I saw many dear colleagues of mine go, BUT I am happy to know that so many have stayed loyal to the bunch and we all can't wait to get back to the office to rebuild our culture with those that are joining the team now.
It is inspiring to see how many of us managed to get through this pandemic and company crisis together. I believe in our teams and the bright future ahead! #strongertogether
Cool, innovative and diverse!
We don't yet practice what we preach collectively. Maintaining a work(out) life balance is still the responsibility of the individual and the teams. Let's start discussing modern ways of collaboration to provide for our people even more!
We have leadership development program, which due to covid budget freezes was put on hold. We have learning budgets per team / year. I am sure more training opportunities will come as soon as our customers can do sports again
Moving from scaling to professionalization
The awareness is definately there and the product itself is very climate-friendly, but there are currently no initiatives rolling out atm to actually make a change in our community. When Fridays For Future was calling to the streets last year, we went as a collective during working hours to support the movement.
Has always been a core strength of our culture.
Very young employee base, but as far as I know all "elderly" people (above 35 :D) are being treated very friendly and respectfully.
I had the joy to be working only under highly skilled and empathetic leaders during my time at USC
Wonderful office next to the spree in Kreuzberg. Office Management is supporting our people in Home Office as good as they can, but lack some resources due to covid at the moment.
During remote work: Main tool of communication is slack, mails and virtual meetings via G-hangout. Meeting structures could be optimized to give employees a bit more focus time. However, adaption to the new remote reality is already happening.
Due to hypergrowth there are still some differences between HQ and the other countries, but I believe in our leaders and international HR business partner to close any gap in the future.
I see a lot of meaning in my position and have freedom to take ownership of projects that interest me personally.
The payment
The incomprehensible decisions
Listen to your employees! Accept that there is racism and sexism in your company and take action against it instead of ignoring it!
It's stressful, and not just since Corona. Working conditions have been tightened more and more, salaries have been frozen and promotions are no longer given to those who perform but to those who please the management. Unfortunately, these are not always the most hard working. You can say what you want - after all, I'm only a man - but I'm forced to give two or three times as much and my female colleagues are simply given preference because the key positions that have already been awarded internally have also gone to women and they seem to be raising a wall against the world of men. Believe it or not, strong women of emancipation should feel very comfortable here. The man is also given the feeling in private that he is worth nothing and his time has come. he would only make short-sighted decisions and is in any case unsuitable for such a job that requires prudence and far-sightedness. If a man were to say something like that, the women's representation would be active tomorrow and the newspaper would be called in... here, however, also in the small departments everyday life...
I think the reviews everywhere speak for themselves.
Terrible. You work in complete chaos in order to somehow keep your job while every halfway competent employee around you slowly but surely leaves.
As above
Many colleagues are friendly, courteous and you have the feeling that you are in the same boat with them. However, if you have the bad luck to be a foreigner of a certain nationality or a man, you should keep your head down so as not to get in the line of fire.
It doesn't get any worse than this. From above, sexist, partly racist and domineering. Unfortunately, no one will believe me if I would tell which gender these people belong to.
We are sent to the home office - or not. While the founders say they want to introduce home office for everyone as a permanent flexibility, the head of the HR department talks in public interviews about how employees should feel they are missing out if they don't come to the company.
Between the employees AND co-workers who haven't gotten on that train yet, it's pleasant. You can talk about everything and shake your head at a lot of things. However, you have to keep your head down, because as soon as you fly above the radar of some people, you are on the hit list. The communication in this regard at the management levels is accordingly also from the top down. Questions are unwelcome. And so are inquiries.
It's ok for the job, as long as you exclude things that have nothing to do with the work.
Absolutely not given. Sexism against men is just as present as racism against some minorities. However, no one will believe that. Just try it out for yourself.
The same treadmill every day
Mittlerweile nichts mehr
- Mangelnde Transparenz-/Unehrlichkeit
- keinerlei Wertschätzung
- persönliche Interessen werden über das UN gestellt
- Fehlbesetzungen in Führungspositionen
Dann erhält man Möglichkeiten.

Also Nein
So verdient kununu Geld.
