The worst of start-up and corporate
Colleagues are nice enough, but there is no real trust nor collaboration. Different teams are not truly working together, but always trying to look out for their own best interests. Management is not doing anything to change that destructive culture.
European top management is lacking the required management experience to scale a company from start-up with hyper-growth to stable mid-sized company. This means there is no healthy company culture, there is no support in case people are meeting challenges at their jobs that they do not know yet how to deal with. Wayfair might be a great company for self-learners as there is a lot of freedom - but you can very, very easily get fired without any reason or justification. This happened more than 5 times with senior managers (level 5+) during less than the last 12 months. This is extremely shocking for me and why I am looking for a new job now.
As mentioned, colleagues are all nice enough individuals, it is just that support amongst each other and for the bigger cause is missing. Everyone is out for themselves.
As Wayfair is still quite unstable in Europe, there are still a lot of very interesting challenges. If you are a self-learner and do not have a problem with high pressure, but lacking support, you can feel very satisfied here.
The European top management is making decisions totally isolated. There are constantly organisation changes, but nobody every below Level 8 is involved in them, but only get to know them when people suddenly do not show up to work anymore or major teams are shifted back and forth.
80% of the company are women, but only around 20% are senior managers

Learning & Development is very basic. Career advancement is ok, given that you make it long enough on a senior level to be promoted
Gehalt / Sozialleistungen
Limited base salary, bonuses are not amazing. The only perk is the share program since stock prices have gone up during the past few months
Nice office and also good perks (snacks, wellness week, good Urban Sports deal)
Umwelt- / Sozialbewusstsein
The Berlin office closes at 9pm, so by then everyone has to leave. But they just continue working at home and on the weekends. For managers, this means working weeks of 60-80 hours.
Nobody knows what Wayfair is and the website looks horrible!

Nice individuals outside of work, well-decorated office, lots of freedom
Bad culture of hiring and firing, firing is done because of "cultural fit" (after individuals have been with the company for more than 12 months...) without any warning, proof etc.
