Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

My colleagues were amazing.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Please train your managers. You can't expect them to know anything if they never deserved the position

Verbesserungsvorschläge

You don't deserve to survive this crisis after all you have done to us.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The best you will have is your colleagues.
Positive vibe and nice international people.
Was a pleasure to work with you guys and I hope you find something better very soon

Kommunikation

This is a joke. Especially how kurzarbeit was communicated. I do have zero trust in this people and the working conditions are simply poor.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Best colleagues, stick together.

Work-Life-Balance

Forget about your weekends and expect your manager to track your minutes and seconds.

Interessante Aufgaben

You will never grow. Managers will prefer it this way.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

They take advantage of people in need of visas so they can pay them illegally or very very low.

Thank you for your feedback.

I’ve read it carefully and I wanted to personally respond as your description doesn’t match what we stand for or how we are as a company. I’m sorry to see you’ve not had a positive experience and I’d love to understand your feedback more - please feel free to contact me if you’re happy to talk about this further.

I also wanted to address some of the points in your review - starting with the communication of Kurzarbeit. Back in April, we had to take the hard decision to put the entire team, including management, on Kurzarbeit in order to keep everyone’s jobs and face the uncertainties in the travel market together. Unlike other travel companies, we didn’t let go of team members to save costs and that was our main priority. I understand your frustration with this but I also ask for your understanding in that it was a necessary measure - one that we are all lucky to have at our disposal in Germany, unlike other countries. We communicated a Kurzarbeit easing-out plan dependent on our company performance which would allow us to ease it out in a financially sense-making way.

You also commented on the training of managers - I can assure you that developing our management team is 100% a priority for us now and for the coming months. We stand behind our managers and want to support them in their growth, so they can support their teams in growing too. It’s especially important for us to support first time managers and have strict and precise management criteria which we track quarterly in the performance review system. You also refer to your own growth within the company - I’m sorry to see you didn’t feel you were given enough opportunities here. Without knowing the details I can only comment that as a Head of HR this is one of the areas I am responsible for and deeply care about - so I take your feedback on board.

On your point on weekend work - in the operations team, work is done in shifts which cover all days of the week. This is stated clearly to everyone who joins during the interview process - if this wasn’t the case for you, please let me know. If a shift falls on a weekend, this is fully compensated, in most cases above market standards. While I understand it can be inconvenient at some times, it is the nature of the job itself and we’ve always been very transparent about this.

I’m happy to see you’ve enjoyed the energy and team, on the up side. I do hope that you reach out so we can talk about the details of your experience and understand your frustrations more.

Kind regards,

Alex Corbin, Head of HR
