Verbesserungsvorschläge

Bring HR closer to the people. You sit isolated in the other building and don't notice anything. Talk to your staff. Ask why we are so frustrated and dissatisfied. Train managers to empathise! And please don't answer Copy & Paste here!

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Dissatisfaction has been on the rise. The company is not doing as well as it used to and you can see that. The management has no plan how this should be changed.

Kommunikation

Communication has always been bad. No department shares its knowledge "officially" with other departments. Sometimes 2-3 people work on the same topic without knowing about it. Topics are also published to external parties and the chaos is perfect. Good ideas such as zoom-in (employee introduction day) are no longer implemented. Zero communication between headquarters and the country offices. New management is not even officially introduced. Meetings of more than 2 hours without outcome. Employees are announced in townhalls on which new position they are sitting before they are even picked up by the change.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

There are some ricochets, but on the whole there are great colleagues. A lot of passionate people who are not allowed to prove their skills because they are kept small. Many leave the company after 2-3 years. But also many long-time employees (10 years+) leave or are kicked out. However in the upper management many power struggles and place stag behavior.

Work-Life-Balance

Very unfairly divided. There are colleagues who drop the pen at 5 p.m. Others work until they fall over. Meetings outside working hours or during lunch break. Recently, uninterrupted availability is also expected. Many colleagues left the company with burnout.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

For senior management: a lot is expected but not delivered. You wait forever for decisions. They trust external consultants more than long-term employees. These are gained through relationships with the management. Probably even commissions flow here? Zero appreciation for work done. If you do a good job, only more is loaded on top. Micromanagement, no empathy, no social competence. "you can't take care of all the sensitivities of individual people." Employees are bullied out. Subjective decisions that are not based on analyses are made. High fluctuation and a corresponding change of manager. Im Meetings: People do not listen and play on their mobile phones or do not appear at agreed appointments. For many, this job is just a stepping stone and they don't care at all about the well-being of the company. Constructive criticism is smiled at and dismissed.

Interessante Aufgaben

Everyone who joins the company is happy about the challenge. However, the disillusionment comes quickly. Obsolete systems, no help from IT, all very political. A lot of manual work. In many areas 5-10 years behind the current standard. Projects are started with high pressure and then you never hear anything about it again. No budget for urgently needed tools.

Gleichberechtigung

Men - women share is balanced. However, not in the board. Many nationalities. There are big differences in salaries. In Poland & Spain a lot is hired, because the salaries are cheaper.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

I only know one person that age. The average age is 35 years.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Obsolete hardware and software. Strategic and disciplinary different superiors with competing goals. No overarching business goals. Loud offices, colleagues on the phone for hours. Way too hot in summer. Positive: Office is in the city center. Dogs may be brought along, but not on all floors and in all offices.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Employees are flown halfway around the world to company parties. In general there is a lot of flying. There is a sustainability newsletter that is a joke. Plastic bottles all over the company.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Is okay. Salary increases rather rare. Fitness studio is paid however to 2/3 and you get a company mobile phone, however not the newest models. Inconsistent home office regulation.

Nobody knows zooplus. Even an EX-Playboybunny can't change that. If you do know us, it's for low prices. The brand is completely exchangeable. Long-standing customers are being crawled away by the omission of savings plans or the introduction of the Second Parcel Fee.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

No budget for trainings and conferences. But nobody has time for that anyway.
