The only way I can describe the culture is cognitive dissonance. The atmosphere was very casual and open and when hard work and extra effort was given it was soon realized that all attempts to gain praise or accolades were moot.
Support from Management
There was no leadership in The IT Department. The IT director would ask the most experienced person in the department for their recommendations and then pass the ideas off as their own in the management meeting. Unprofessional and with barbarous intentions so they can move up in the company. Being systematically undermined is not an ideal situation for anyone.
