Company Culture

The only way I can describe the culture is cognitive dissonance. The atmosphere was very casual and open and when hard work and extra effort was given it was soon realized that all attempts to gain praise or accolades were moot.

Support from management

There was no leadership in The IT Department. The IT director would ask the most experienced person in the department for their recommendations and then pass the ideas off as their own in the management meeting. Unprofessional and with barbarous intentions so they can move up in the company. Being systematically undermined is not an ideal situation for anyone.

Teamwork

The word "team" implies that task were completed by a cohesive group sharing ideas and duties. This did not take place at 2G.

Freedom to work independently

The IT department needs to run autonomously to be successful. This was not the case at 2G

Internal Communication

Is "do as I say and not as I do" a communication style?

Gender Equality

It was equal to do all the work and have management take credit for it. The equality comes from being able to keep your job when management makes a mistake.

Attitude towards older colleagues

I do not believe that there was a non-management employee over the age of 40.

Career Development

If 2G were in the Service Industry then the career development training would be superb.

Overall compensation for your work

The company employees didn't get their direct deposits or pay one pay period and had to be given personal checks from the company CEO due to poor financial management.

Office / Work Environment

Bare minimum essentials were provided to perform duties. The new technologies were given to employees who did the least amount of work.

Environmental Friendliness

Asking the company not to speak of a huge business failure outside of the work place or to competitors constitutes social awareness, so yes the company was well aware of issues that affected business.

Work-Life Balance

This is a one sided affair company.

Company Image

No longer does the pride of working for 2G stand for innovation and moving forward in technology. Now employees would rather tell people they are unemployed then who they work for.

Job Security

At company meetings the phrase of the day was often "everyone is replaceable". That's all I need to say about that.

Handicapped Accessibility

For this reason, the company did not hire any person with a disability.

Workplace Safety

The motto of "out of site, out of mind" was often muttered by executives walking in the hall.

Challenging Work

If being reactive and not proactive is challenging then yes the work was very challenging.

Inclusive / Diverse

I believe that the words Inclusive and Diverse would be cause for a write-up should they be mumbled by an employee outside the circle of trust.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Start by restructuring from the top down.

What I like about the company

It was once fun and innovative. It use to be about the comradery and appreciation before the business turned purely profit focused.

What I dislike about the company

The employees were given no respect or treated like a human.
