Suggestions for improvement
- Hire experienced people, supervise people better, do not allow workplace bullying.
What I like about the company
The work that we do can be challenging and emotional. You can sometimes help someone out of a life or death situation, and that is very rewarding. Because of the work we do, our Executive Director is cognizant when we need self-care. We have a good amount of comp time and paid time off. I am trusted to work with very little supervision.
What I dislike about the company
I question the hiring decisions of management at times. The hiring of former clients that have not healed from their situations is a common occurrence. Some people are hired just for their availability, but they are not invested in the mission of our agency. The people that work with our clients should be kindhearted and patient, and that is not always the case.
