Most hostile work environment ever.

Company Culture

Extremely political. Sexual harassment is a core value - tolerated at all levels.
Lack of focused management and long-term employees who have burrowed into the political structure are kept even though they do little-to-no work of value to the organization.

Support from management

Zero - especially if you're a woman.

Teamwork

Every man and woman for themselves.

Freedom to work independently

Micromanagement is a company core value.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Ironically, their view of older colleagues isn't any different than any other company.

Environmental Friendliness

I went two whole weeks without talking to another living soul except at meetings.

Work-Life Balance

It's a 9-5 day but you stress about what someone thinks you didn't do even when you're not there.

Company Image

People outside AARP think it is outdated and out of touch. They are not wrong.

Job Security

If you're there, you're never secure. Never think you are.

What I dislike about the company

Sexual harassment. Lack of support from management. Did I mention the sexual harassment? I know there is a local employment law firm that had an attorney whose entire job was AARP sexual harassment claims.
