There is a lack of overall structure in this company. Communication between upper management and staff needs improvement. Responsibilities are not delegated equally causing some employees to feel more overworked and overwhelmed than others.

I learned that the best way to get through a workday is to keep to yourself and maintain a neutral position on everything. Gossip and conflict among staff members occur constantly.

We are constantly being watched at the security monitors placed in the lab. It makes me uncomfortable and makes me feel that I cannot be trusted to do my job correctly.

Office / Work Environment
Working in cramped spaces, boxes are almost always blocking hallways and other areas around the lab. The lighting in some areas of the lab are poor which can be difficult for some employees. The design of the workplace does not consider ergonomics making it difficult for employees to work comfortably.
They do not seem to show any concern or awareness for the environment
Due to the volume of the work we receive, it is not unusual for employees to work past their scheduled hours, at the same time, it is nearly impossible to complete your responsibilities in an 8 hour shift.

I have not seen any handicap accessible resources in this workplace
There is no training provided in the handling of bloodborne pathogens. Fire safety, preventing workplace accidents such as slips or falls are not discussed. I have not seen an evacuation plan in case of a fire.
As a member of the laboratory staff, I work with a high volume of patient specimens daily. What is most challenging about this job is the inability of the other staff to pull their own weight and equally contribute or match the amount of effort I put in everyday.

- Provide new hires with a comprehensive training of their tasks. Remove employees who are toxic, unproductive, and gossip about others.
