Suggestions for improvement
- They should collaborate and listen more to experienced and high performing teachers. They also need to embrace more progressive proven teaching methods. Poor kids are still kids.
What I like about the company
The work was very fulfilling, and most families were supportive. As a veteran teacher, I was comfortable and confident in the classroom and that allowed me to do a great job. Working with colleagues was on of the highlights - almost everyone there was dedicated and passionate about education.
What I dislike about the company
The level of micromanaging teachers was a lot. Children were treated like they were in some sort of juvenile detention facility as far as management goes, which speaks more to the general inability on staff members part to manage children properly. A lot of teacher directed instruction, which is totally antiquated at this point. Everything is about test scores. That sucked the joy out of teaching really quickly.
