Support from management
No upper mgmt. support. Figure it out attitude.
Teamwork is only between labor force and tentative at best.
Freedom to work independently
No. Upper management micro-manages to the point of causing chaos.
Absolutely no communication from upper mgmt. to mid mgmt.
Women in Counter sales and low level labor. Passed over for promotions. Only female in power position is HR. She does what co President says. HR had big part in transgender discrimination.
Attitude towards older colleagues
No job is secure!
Very little advancement. " Married and buried" attitude.
Overall compensation for your work
The owner has said on many occasions over the years" You want to get 4 times what your paying an employee in labor. Thats how you want to get your money's worth and production."
Office / Work Environment
Low morale company wide. Dirty unsafe conditions.
Many things buried with waste over the years. Lime and chemicals from concrete block threaten nearby creek at Crossville Tn location.
No work - life balance. Acme believes an employee should be at their beckoned call. Family plans cancelled numerous times by numerous employees over the years to work scheduled days off.
The President of the company is an pompous young man. The salesman from around the company that "If you don't want to sell a job, take Brantley(president of co.) with you to perspective customer.". Most locations unkempt and maintenence is secondary. Locations do not make good 1st visual impression.
Can be dismissed at any time. Every employee has that fear. Or demoted and moved till they quit.
Not important. Ex; fire extinguishers not updated in over 10 yrs, poor lighting, no training, electrical hazzards, employees required to perform tasks beyond their training(electrical, high angle construction, confined spaces).
VERY physically demanding, dirty, understaffed, very minimal training. Exposed to elements.
Inclusive / Diverse
Not much diversity. Discriminitory! No women in mgmnt. A long time loyal employee/supervisor de-moted, relocated and retaliated against for coming out as trans-gender. Ethnic back grounded individuals kept in low level labor positions with no advancement.
Suggestions for improvement
- NEW ATTITUDES TOWARDS EMPLOYEES, WORKPLACE SAFETY, DIVERSITY AND PAY SCALE.
What I like about the company
Most of my fellow employees are good, hardworking individuals who just want to keep improving their way of living for them and their families.
What I dislike about the company
It will never improve with the president/owners and HR's attitude towards towards the employees and the working conditions. Have seen BLATANT discrimination and retaliation, disregaurd for environmental care.
