Acosta experience report

I no longer recommend anyone to work for Acosta. They’re steadily losing contracts. Major companies are going...

Company Culture

Leadership is not good. So many issues, it’s one large cluster cover up.

Support from management

For the majority of the workforce, there is not enough support.

Freedom to work independently

Freedom to work independently but with devices for managers and field employees that not only track for GPS/mileage purposes, the company is using spyware installed on employee’s handhelds to collect intel/data on customers, clients and employees. They can, and do, remotely collect information via pictures, take videos, listen and record audio of anything and anyone within a certain proximity to a company provided handheld device. Unethical business practices by many, not all, but many.

Gender Equality

They promote women because they have to.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Depending on how old, Acosta does employ a large number of people over 40, however, there have been open discussions among managers regarding a strong desire to not employ ‘older’ people. A specific desirable age range has not been stated.

Company Image

The company image, according to outsiders, is from neutral to questionable. It used to be favorable.

Job Security

Large layoffs occurring. Not giving 60 day notice.

Inclusive / Diverse

Depending on the market, there is no racial diversity.

Suggestions for improvement

  • It’s likely too late but the CEO should go. Some on the Board of Directors, should leave too. The hierarchy should pay attention. Don’t believe everything you hear. Conduct your business practices with the same transparency as you have towards your employees, clients and customers. Start there.

What I like about the company

Some of the incredibly talented and ethical people I’ve worked with.

What I dislike about the company

Acosta is short changing their clients. If conducting business in an ethical manner, matters to you, do not apply here. The recently reduced all vacation/PTO. They do not treat their employees well. Very few exceptional managers, some are good, most should be terminated. I’m going to resign.
