What employees say

Employees like

I had incredible relationships with my coworkers and the residents we swerved which always made going to work a please. I have so many amazing memories with the people at work, and I was really able to grow from the more challenging moments, so even those were positive.
Training is good, positive atmosphere. It's a stepping stone for those in the medical field. Huge amount of employee turnover, so there isn't always continuity. Supervisors change often and they all have their own way of doing things.
supports activities of daily living for vulnerable adults and seems like volunteer work because the pay is awful, but makes you feel good by improving lives of others
Comparable pay to similar jobs in the area and career field. Ample and in-depth training before starting the he job. Decent benefits. Flexible schedule and paid time off.
Positive social interactions, felt like the job was rewarding, lots of opportunities for bonuses and other exciting networking opportunities.

Employees don't like

Needs better pay lack of pay will cause high turnover rates
The only difficult part of the job was when we were working short staffed but that isnt the company's fault, that's just how the job market is right now.
Turnover rate is high, pay is low, bonuses offered for employee referrals which could be used for pay raises....they just don't happen.
The only thing that I would disapprove of is the pay seems low for the amount and type of work that you complete.
giving huge rewards to employees for referrals rather than increasing pay for current employees

Suggestions for improvement

Comparable wages for staff so that they are making a livable wage for the hard work they out in. The culture and environment are the exact reasons why I woke here and was so difficult to leave!
Ask the staff of any changes that need or might occur before going forward with them.
I have no improvements to add to the company as it was a great working environment.
I think everything was pretty good for the most part, all policies were designed to protect residents and employees, and I always felt there was a positive culture and environment.
I don't really have any specific advice.

yes, accessibility was one of the most important components
5
Absolutely.

Considering it's a place where people with disabilities live, it's incredibly accessible. Except in winter where 20-something staff are supposed to take care of ice and snow and they don't. Or, when they do, they are given inferior products that put everyone's safety at risk.

Hourly on-call people are told the "maximum" number of hours, but then are given very few resources if they are at that maximum, forcing them to work time for which they are not paid. Also, live-in staff are often asked to "be home" (during off-duty times; not just the asleep/back-up hours) to keep the house in ratio, but are not compensated, but also cannot leave.

Career Development rating

4.2

Career Development is rated with an average of 4.2 points (based on one review).

This job is a career killer. It can enhance your resume if you are going into a health-related field, but otherwise, if you stay more than a few years, not only will you not get more experience, it will warp your resume as health-care-driven.
Also, the method for determining promotions is entirely arbitrary. For a couple positions, there is an "internship" process, but the process consists of the least experienced people being put in the worst scenarios and basically seeing ...
