Support from management
the jury is still out. management turn-over is high
we have a good team
Freedom to work independently
the workload is pretty much evenly distributed. however, there are some things that need attention.
they have had an overhaul in administration and things seem to be a bit better
They appear to be fair, but politics always play a role
Attitude towards older colleagues
I'm an older colleague with a contemporary disposition. I think objectivity is the key to how well you are received. I don't swear, so I do comment on the use of profanity by the younger colleagues.
there are no personal development opportunities offered at this company, they are willing to allow for schedule changes if you want to attend school.
Overall compensation for your work
this position doesn't allow very much compensation and the work is not very challenging. However, there is to be a raise this year. There wasn't one last year.
Office / Work Environment
computer systems are average, but everything else seems compliant
no peer pressure; vac days must be scheduled at least 2 wks in adv; working hrs due fall on a 24/7 normal scale
This is one of the better independent/skilled nursing/assisted living facilities in the city. It has it's short comings, but it would be a rude awakening to work here and then work at a nursing home.
Because this is a facility that gravitates toward the rich and probably some famous, I think that, as long a you maintain a strong work ethic, you'll have a job. There are a lot of old, rich, people whose families can't or don't want to care for them.
There a many seniors here that need to be accommodated with accessibility tools. They provide those.
We, as employees, must have annual training to comply with OSHA standards. It's online training that is mandatory.
Inclusive / Diverse
What I like about the company
The Admiral at the Lake is clean; a brand new building; upscale equipment; beautiful location; excellent public transportation.
What I dislike about the company
A few residents in assisted living need to be on the skilled floor. That makes for a much more difficult shift.
