It was less about teamwork and more about profit.
Freedom to work independently
They gave us a task and expected us to complete it ourselves.
The instructions and training was often confusing and they didn't fully prepare me for my job. I often had to learn as I went and rely upon my own skills or the help of other employees.
It was hard to balance work/life due to scheduling being posted only a day before I was expected to be working, it makes it hard to plan ahead as you never knew when or if you would be called in.
The work was fast paced and hard, however there were many gaps in the day where it became dull.
Suggestions for improvement
- I would organize the backroom/breakroom better, provide better more informative training, and would organize the size of staff better to avoid such short hours and confusion.
What I like about the company
It gave me working experience and provided me with exposure to the retail workforce.
What I dislike about the company
I disapprove of the short hours, the overstaffing, the messy breakroom, and the lack of care toward the individual employees.
