Director is not clear on expectations and runs the department on emotional state for the day. There is a lack of consistency and stable direction. Expectations change consistently enough where upper management doesn't remember what they changed and you are reprimanded in front of your staff. Demeaning environment where you are treated as children and brought down in front of other staff in meetings.
