Training was non-existent, there were few if any injuries though, due to the deliberate pace worked.
Suggestions for improvement
- Lower prices and change franchise structure. Repeat business is more beneficial than endless promos. Even if it costs $300 to get a customer, it costs $5000 or more to hire a new employee. People need a break from being on call, as well as reliable equipment, not just an "I get it" from management.
What I like about the company
There is a strong emphasis on teamwork and not putting people in a position to fail. Customer service is a high priority, and callbacks were very low due to their system. So job satisfaction was high.
What I dislike about the company
There was too much emphasis on selling, rather than fixing things, and prices were very high in their menu price guide. An example was an igniter for a furnace was $320 even with the diagnostic waived. Because of the high prices, customers went off on employees and complained to management. Employee was disciplined for not showing customer value, which hard when charging 500% markup on said part. Too much emphasis on keeping bad customers, even if it was detrimental to morale. Many were through Groupon promos, which historically are not repeat customers. Life work balance was non existent.
