Suggestions for improvement
- Improve the work culture. Introduce some level of work-life balance (I don't say "improve" because there would have to be some to start with). Recognize that your workers are not indentured servants and respect that they have lives outside work.
What I like about the company
The benefits are great. Health insurance is low cost and high quality. The building is very pretty.
What I dislike about the company
Don't work there if you ever want to see your home or family again. I knew 3 people who had to go on disability for stress. You will work long hours for minimal raises (3.5% max for top performers. 1.6% bonus max for top performers). You may advance to lower levels but advancement beyond that is reserved for staff from the parent company. The atmosphere is pretty awful. People know they can't advance so they try to compete internally which means teamwork is almost nonexistent. You will be told in the interview that it's 37.5 hours per week. When you start, you will be expected to work longer. You'll be told that it's "temporary" or sometimes that "anywhere you work will be like this". It's not temporary. You will work those hours forever. It's so stressful that many times, when you go to the restroom, there will be someone in there crying. I don't recommend it unless you're desperate. This is across all departments. Oh, and you have to pay more for the health care if you can't make the healthy choices that you don't have time to make because you are WORKING ALL THE TIME.
