ALLEGRO COFFEE COMPANY Review
The job was fairly easy but there wasn't much growth unless transferring to another department or going regional.
What I like
I learned a bunch about the history of coffee and its current roasting process, the Fair Trade process, how to properly use the machines and make the drinks - both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. I gained great friends and team members and leaders were supportive in personal growth.
I also appreciated the discount with Whole Foods and weekly shared tips.
What I dislike
I did not like the scheduling, although flexible, availability still had to be "open." It was tough to work for a small team and still be "on call" when someone called out. Also I wished there were more incentives for Allegro team members. I felt like the rest of the store had special things happen with them but Allegro was pushed by the wayside.
Suggestions for improvement
Add more incentives for team members (e.g. bonuses, team outings, etc). Add more leadership positions or positions that would improve the team (e.g. someone to run the department's social media page, someone to host cuppings, etc). Better scheduling or more people hired to cover shifts.
