Suggestions for improvement
- More transparency around growth in company Active search within company before hiring from without Possibility to “review” supervisor to his/her supervisor in a genuine & anonymous way (I’m not aware of any BAD situations. It’s just that you never get a chance to comment on your supervisor, but he/she gets every chance to promote self. That person may not be giving credit where due.)
What I like about the company
Great corporate culture—kind, supportive, dedicated to work/life balance, fun! Many opportunities to learn new skills, apps, about other industries, etc. VERY smart and skilled teams! Super-selective for skill/experience and FIT for organization. I can relate to almost everyone here, regardless of role, gender, or age, etc.
What I dislike about the company
Not enough cultivating of existing talent; new hires brought on without looking at current staff who may want a change
Family owned—fine. Family employment agency? Not so fine. About 20% of employees are related to an owner or to someone in a supervisory position to them. People have been given high-status and well-paying positions without any obvious competitive process, seemingly because of their close family ties. Most of these family-hires seem to be good at their jobs, but it doesn’t seem fair.
