Suggestions for improvement
- Unit coordinators should be included when interviewing applicants for their building and have some say on staff they think would be a good fit. Also the company needs to be more organized with communication with employees about trainings and changes to the program and/or policies.
What I like about the company
I've learned a lot about myself and who I am while working at Allendale. There are staff and supervisors who care about the work we do and it's great to be a part of an agency that cares about the kids progress. Through team meetings and supervision I've really learned a lot about the clinical side of helping at-risk youth. There have been several opportunities to learn and grow at this company and I'm a more experienced mental health care worked because of their guidance.
What I dislike about the company
Communication can be improved. It always seems like people are on a different page because management doesn't relay information to everyone at the same time. Either you hear about a change or you just don't. Another thing we need is higher paying leadership positions. You can work very hard and be rewarded by moving up in the agency quickly but the pay just isn't enough for the added responsibilities you gain.
