Like any workpalce, there's always a few rotten apples that threaten to take down the whole team dynamic. Other than those coupple people, we all work great as a team and are often able to enjoy our extremely stressful but rewarding jobs.
Freedom to work independently
Some times a little too much - allowing some people to not work nearly as hard as others.
There are often changes implemented without any forewarning or training.
Has improved recently, but still needs work.
Office / Work Environment
Half the room is updated and ergonomically great, the other half is terrible
terrible at encouraging recyclling
It is my choice to not work overtime
no handicap parking - no automatic doors
Have to either pay for parking or walk in the dark from my car 4-5 blocks
II work as an EMS dispatcher and one cond could be taking a regular schedule call for service and the next call I pick up is a cardiac arrest and I'm suddenly talking someone through CPR.
Inclusive / Diverse
Unpopular opinions are not welcome
Suggestions for improvement
- The people that are trying to drag the rest of us down should be brought up to our level by management instead of ignoring the problems.
What I like about the company
My job as an EMS dispatchers allows me to make a difference in people's lives on a daily basis. From CPR instructions to childbirth to just being the voice on the phone for someone who is hurting, I love my job.
What I dislike about the company
I'm disappointed that, because our EMS division is a relatively small portion of the company, we don't get the same attention or respect from executives.
