- Ambix Manufacturing, Inc.12.Nov 2015
Owners created an atmosphere of anxiety due to lack of training, non-constructive criticism and company benefits promised but not delivered.
Support from management
No training, owner support/guidance, expectations not clear & changed daily
Staff worked well together across departments
Regular meetings were positive and timely in the beginning. They quickly dropped off and were sporadic. In group meetings individuals were publicly criticized in front of peers.
There were no equality issues at this company.
Attitude towards older colleagues
A variety of people were hired. In the beginning (2 months or so) a lot of praise comes to the new colleague but after that it is a quick downward slide.
No training was provided, some websites were shared for self training. Promises of other trainings were offered but no follow through. When training was requested, employee told to find it for themselves, they didn't have time.
Overall compensation for your work
Salary was reasonable for the area and received timely. Benefits were offered but not delivered.
Office / Work Environment
Computers were up to date and monthly safety audits were completed without issues. Some vital equipment was not reliable causing a delay in production.
The company was very aware of their role in protecting the environment.
For myself the owners worked with me for appointments so I could work different hours to compensate for time out of the office.
Employees do not speak fondly of the company due to the way the owners treated them.
The company consisted of 8 employees and 2 owners. In the 6 months I was employed 5 people were fired and 2 quit.
Yes, this facility is handicap accessible.
A lot of emphasis is placed on safety in the work place.
I feel the work I accomplished was successful. I created and implemented some training programs. Self trained myself on all aspects of the job. In the beginning I was highly praised by the owners for my contributions and for bringing morale of the team up.
Inclusive / Diverse
Diversity is not promoted.
Suggestions for improvement
- Implementing a training program for each department and staying with it. This would lead to a more successful employee, better productivity and less turn over requiring continuous new hire crash training. Praise in public & reprimand in private. Management should be left to the Engineer as he is respectful and shows his appreciation to the employees.
What I like about the company
The type of work was interesting and challenging.
What I dislike about the company
Lack of training when requested, public insults, set up to fail at hosting meetings as owner would not respond to request for agenda or what sections I would be responsible to train on, conflicting job expectations between the 2 owners for the employee.
