Support from management
Leadership in Amdahl's is very limited. Some employees have unrealistic expectations put on them, communication lacks throughout the business, and employees are not aware of any decisions that are made until after they are finalized.
Some departments work well together, others work against each other. None of the departments work well with one another. There always seems to be tension.
Women are treated lessor than men.
Office / Work Environment
More often than not, the environment seems hostile.
Families are not taken into consideration. Employees are expected to work 6 days a week with minimal flexibility. When an employee has to leave work for sick kids, no daycare, etc., the environment becomes very cold and hostile.
I am proud of the work I do, not necessarily proud of the company due to their local reputation.
Inclusive / Diverse
Diversity is not really supported. Refer to the comments I made previously under "Work-Life Balance"
Suggestions for improvement
- The expectations need to be across the board and there needs to be understanding and flexibility to those individuals who have families/children in the home.
What I like about the company
As an employer, they offer a wide range of tasks and responsibilities for certain positions held.
What I dislike about the company
There is a very obvious discrimination towards employees with families/children in the home. There is no regard for sick children, sick daycare, school events, weekend school/church/etc. events. It is expected to work 6 days a week while other management works half days, arrives and leaves whenever is acceptable to them, etc.
