Support from management
I didn't have support from my direct program manager.
I had teamwork at the base that I was at, but with the company I didn't feel that there was teamwork.
Communication with those whom I worked with on base was great, but not with the company. It took at least two weeks before anyone would contact me back.
Overall compensation for your work
When this company was awarded the contract, their bid was low, so my pay was lower than what I had made with a previous company.
Office / Work Environment
The office/work environment at the base was great.
The base was concerned about being Eco-consciousness and had built a new medical building that was eco-friendly.
My work-life balance was good.
I was not proud to work for this company, as they did not care about their employees concerns.
There is no job security. This company bids on government contracts and the contracts can end at any time the military sees the need to end a position.
I worked on base and they were always stressing workplace safety.
Suggestions for improvement
- The management needs to be retrained in how to be patient and courteous with all employees (new or old). They also need to respond to any question(s) via phone or email in a timely manner/24 hours or less. The company also needs to take into account when being awarded a bid and having an incumbent to pay the incumbent what they were making or close to the pay, as they would not have to wait for the person to be trained or go through a background check, as that takes about three months. The incumbent can start right up and already knows what to do.
What I like about the company
What I liked about the company was, they had paid for my insurance premium.
What I dislike about the company
What I didn't like about this company is that they did not return phone calls and/or emails in a timely manner. It would take at least two weeks before they would get back with me. The tone in which they would respond was demeaning and disrespectful. They didn't like to take time to give directions on how their computer program worked, they took for granted that all new employees knew how to navigate their system. When asked for assistance they were rude and inpatient.
